Oh, the Irony! Trump's 'God Bless the USA' Bibles Printed in China
In a twist that's as hilarious as it is hypocritical, former President Donald Trump-endorsed "God Bless the USA" Bibles were printed in China, according to the Associated Press. Yes, you read that right. The same Trump who's been bashing U.S.-China trade has his name on Bibles shipped from the very country he loves to hate.
Dubbed the "Trump Bible" by fans, the "God Bless the USA Bible" is touted as the "only Bible endorsed by President Trump." While the website claims it's not affiliated with a political campaign, we all know Trump's all about that branding.
Global trade records dug up by the AP show that around 120,000 copies of these Bibles were shipped from Hangzhou, China to the U.S. between early February and late March. The estimated value? Less than $3 per Bible, totaling $342,000. But don't worry, the "Trump Bible" retails for a minimum of $59.99, raking in a potential $7 million. Capitalism at its finest, folks!
Now, plenty of Bibles are printed in China, but the irony here is off the charts. Trump's been on a tirade against China, from his trade war to calling COVID-19 the "China virus" (which, by the way, is racist and dangerous). But sure, let's print his Bibles there.
Trump: Critical of China, but happy to profit from it
During his presidency, Trump was all about the trade war with China. He even called for a 60% tariff on Chinese imports in this campaign, which experts agree would mostly hurt consumers. But hey, at least his Bibles are cheap to produce!
Speaking of campaigns, Trump's 2024 platform wants to phase out Chinese imports and investments. Yet, his beloved Bibles are proudly "Made in China." The hypocrisy is strong with this one.
Trump Bibles stir controversy in Oklahoma schools
Oklahoma's Superintendent Ryan Walters recently requested $3 million to provide a Bible in every public school classroom, with specifications eerily similar to the "Trump Bible." Legal experts cried foul, saying it could be seen as "bid rigging" and a violation of the Oklahoma constitution. But don't worry, the requirements were loosened after the backlash.
Just one of many Trump-branded ventures
Throughout his 2024 campaign, Trump's been hawking all sorts of collectibles to cover expenses and legal fees. From watches to coins, sneakers, and even NFT trading cards featuring him as a superhero, the Trump brand is alive and well.
So there you have it, folks. The next time Trump bashes China, remember his "God Bless the USA" Bibles are proudly printed in the very country he loves to hate.
