Texas Weather: The Hot Mess Express Rolls On

Hey there, Texas! You thought you could enjoy a calm fall? HA! Think again. Buckle up, because this weekend is gonna be a scorcher before Mother Nature decides to give us whiplash with a cold front next week. You won't want to miss this wild ride.

Brace Yourselves: North Texas Might Break Heat Records This Weekend

Remember when the Farmers' Almanac said we'd have "warmer-than-average" temperatures this fall? Well, they weren't kidding. North Texas is about to get lit—literally.

After already sweating through above-average temps this week, this weekend is going to crank up the heat even more. We might even break some records. Who needs a pumpkin spice latte when you can have a pumpkin spice sauna?

CBS News Texas meteorologists are predicting highs of 95℉ on Saturday and 96℉ on Sunday, both just a hair below the record highs of 97℉. Saturday's record was set in 1979, while Sunday's dates back to 1910. Who says history can't repeat itself?

Get ready, Breckenridge, because you're about to become the new hotspot. AccuWeather is calling for a high of 96℉ on Friday, 98℉ on Saturday, and a blistering 101℉ on Sunday. Time to break out the sunscreen and AC units!

Here are AccuWeather's predictions for other cities:

City Friday's high Saturday's high Sunday's high
Dallas 94℉ 96℉ 98℉
Fort Worth 94℉ 95℉ 99℉
Arlington 93℉ 94℉ 98℉
Plano 91℉ 95℉ 98℉

And just when you thought you couldn't take the heat anymore, a strong cold front is expected to swoop in Sunday night, bringing temperatures crashing down into the 70s next week. Talk about a rollercoaster ride!
