UT plays escort service to West Campus. Maybe they should spend more time teaching reading, writing and arithmetic.
President Jay Hartzell is more concerned with playing nanny state than addressing issues that actually matter—like the left's assault on our freedom. Hartzell needs to stop coddling students and focus on preserving the conservative values that make our country great, instead of bowing to the woke mob.

University of Texas at Austin to Continue Wasting Money on Pointless 'Ambassador' Program
University of Texas President Jay Hartzell announced that the wasteful and ridiculous "West Campus Ambassadors" program will continue, much to the chagrin of taxpayers and lovers of freedom everywhere. This liberal boondoggle, which was piloted last year, is supposedly aimed at "beautifying" and increasing "safety" in the off-campus neighborhood, because God forbid students take responsibility for their own damn safety and pick up their own trash.
"Having students feel comfortable and safe enables all the great experiences that they are going to have in school," Hartzell said. "We've been doing all we can, everything from building more housing to the housing scholarship program, this West Campus ambassador program, all with an eye toward having this vibrant, fun immersive campus experience where students feel like they're a part of that."
Wow, what a snowflake! The program, which employs 18 people (soon to be 30, because why not?), has so far collected 30,000 pounds of trash, cleaned up 2,000 graffiti pieces, and escorted 500 students. All this at a cool cost of $600,000 per year, because that's apparently how much it costs to teach kids to not be slobs and take care of themselves.
"You can see the impact," Hartzell said. "It feels different in the neighborhood."
Yeah, it feels like communism! The ambassadors, easily identifiable by their navy polos and caps, are basically hall monitors for college kids. They're there to "connect" with students and make them feel "welcome," because heaven forbid students actually learn some damn personal responsibility.
"My ambassadors hit the ground every single day with humility in their heart and hospitality at their best, and we go out there to strive to be better," said Kevin Morris Sr., the cleaning team lead.
Strive to be better at what, exactly? Wasting taxpayer money? This program is a joke, and it's just another example of the leftist agenda infiltrating our education system. But hey, at least the ambassadors are "trained in mental health awareness and safety," so they can report any "wrongthink" to the UT police, I'm sure.
You can reach these ambassadors through their hotline, Instagram, or by spotting their ridiculous uniforms as they patrol the streets. God help us all.
