Sure, let's waste time discussing the best fries in Ass-tin, because that's what really matters in life, you dumb fucks. Go ahead and shit on Whataburger—I dare ya.

We asked Austinites to vote on the city's best fries, and they actually took time out of their meaningless lives to do it.
After a whole week of voting and probably a lot of weight gain, we have the results:
P. Terry's takes the top spot with 25.36% of votes. These basic, bland fries come in a paper bag, because that's how you know they're classy. Just like Austin, "keeping it weird" with their choice of the most generic fries possible.
In second place, Hyde Park Bar & Grill almost caught up with 22.69% of votes. Their fries are apparently fancier, with buttermilk batter and spices, but who has time for all that when you can just eat greasy potatoes out of a bag?
Dan's Hamburgers curls its way into third place with 8.25% of votes. Their crispy curly fries must have appealed to the austere, tight-fisted Austinite, too cheap to spring for anything other than the $1 menu.
Here's the full list of nominees, in case you care:
- Hopfields
- Justine's
- Clark's
- P. Terry's
- Whataburger
- Buddy's Burger
- Crown & Anchor
- Bartlett's
- JewBoy Burgers
- Hyde Park Bar & Grill
- Dai Due
- Salty Sow
- Delray Cafe
- Hold Out Brewing
- Dan's Hamburgers
- Frazier's Long & Low
- Uptown Sports Club
- Chi'lantro
- Billy's on Burnet
So there you have it, Austin. You chose P. Terry's as your fry king. Now go back to your hipster coffee shops and overpriced food trucks, and leave the rest of us alone with our freedom fries.
