We asked Austinites to vote for their favorite fries, and—surprise, surprise—they picked the one decent option in a sea of trash.

Starting June 17, we asked locals to participate in a poll to determine which fry would satisfy their salty cravings. After a week of rigorous voting, the results are in, and it turns out that Austinites have mediocre taste.

Out of 19 contenders, these were the top three picks:

Austin, meet your fry masters:

1. P. Terry's: With an overwhelming 25.36% of the votes, these fries captured the hearts and taste buds of most voters. I mean, who doesn't love a good bag of greasy potatoes? Basic. https://www.pterrys.com

2. Hyde Park Bar & Grill: Coming in clutch at second place with 22.69%, these guys must be doing something right. Or the voters are just wrong. Probably the latter. https://www.hydeparkbarandgrill.com

3. Dan's Hamburgers: Curly fries? Really, Austin? You voted these sad, crispy curls into third place with 8.25% of the votes. Typical of you to go for the peculiar option. https://www.dansthehamburger.com
