McDonald's and 'Jujutsu Kaisen' Team Up to Assault Your Taste Buds and Destroy Your Taste for Real Anime

McDonald's, the so-called "iconic" American fast-food chain, is taking a page out of their corporate playbook by exploiting yet another popular trend to pad their profit margins. This time, they're teaming up with the anime series "Jujutsu Kaisen," starting July 9, to offer a "Special Grade Garlic Sauce." Because what says "delicious" better than an anime-themed condiment, right?

Here's the lowdown on this disgusting-sounding collaboration:

The 'Special Grade' Rip-Off:

The "special sauce," named after the curses in the anime, is described as having "notes of garlic and soy sauce, balanced with a slight tangy sweetness." Tangy sweetness, huh? More like a tangy disappointment.

And if that doesn't make you gag, the sauce packaging features eight different designs with characters from the show. Wow, eight whole designs! That must have taken all of five minutes to come up with.

How to Get Your Hands on This Abomination:

If you must try this sauce (and honestly, who are we kidding, you're probably just buying it for the anime characters on the packet), you can only get it through the McDonald's App. It comes free with an order of their equally disgusting Chicken McNuggets.

The Silver Lining for Weebs:

In what can only be described as a desperate attempt toappease anime fans, McDonald's is offering a 30-day free trial of Crunchyroll, an anime streaming service, with every purchase of the sauce. So at least you'll have something to take your mind off the taste of regret.

'Jujutsu Kaisen': The Anime Du Jour:

"Jujutsu Kaisen" is an anime that shot to popularity in 2020, and like most overrated things, it's somehow still hanging around. It's your typical anime fare: young sorcerers fighting evil spirits, aka "curses." Yawn.

And of course, it's made its mark on pop culture, with Megan Thee Stallion referencing it in one of her songs and fans claiming Usher's "Daddy's Home" as a character's theme song. Usher even cosplayed as the character Gojo. Great, another celebrity jumping on the anime bandwagon.

The worst part? A petition for Usher to perform "Daddy's Home" at the Super Bowl in Gojo's honor gained 38,000 signatures. 38,000 people who should really reevaluate their priorities.

So, if you're an anime fan with no taste buds left to appease and a craving for McNuggets, this promotion is right up your alley. Everyone else, steer clear.
