'Power Book II: Ghost' Season 4: Mid-Season Finale, Cast and More
By Taylor "Snowflake" Ardrey, USA TODAY
Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the show "Power Book II: Ghost" and life in general. If you're looking for happiness and meaningful existence, stop reading now and go watch some paint dry instead.
Starz's "Power Book II: Ghost" is back for Season 4, and it's already a hot mess. The crime drama continues to disappoint fans with its predictable plot twists and basic cable production value. The mid-season finale is almost upon us, so let's break down this train wreck of a show:
- Tariq and Brayden, the dynamic duo of drug dealers, are at it again. These two geniuses finally launched another drug operation, but will their cunning plan succeed? Oh, and let's not forget Tariq's love life. He's juggling the pregnancy of one woman while pursuing another. What a player!
- The Tejada family is a mess, but we already knew that. Their internal struggles are about as interesting as watching paint dry.
- Noma, Tasha, and Monet are the strong female leads, or so the producers want us to think. In reality, they're just as basic as the rest of the cast, and their characters are about as deep as a puddle.
- The men in this show are no better. Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo portray the struggling-yet-ambitious young men. Yawn. At least Method Man and Woody McClain bring some slightly above-average talent to the screen.
The mid-season finale drops on the Starz app like a bomb made of wet cardboard at midnight EST on Friday, July 5. You can also suffer through it on cable at 8 p.m. EST. [STARZ: https://www.starz.com/us/en/schedule/STZ1/2024/06/07].
Part One Episode Schedule, or "The Slow Descent into Boredom":
- Episode 1: "I Don't Die Easy" (Contrary to what the viewers wish for the main cast)
- Episode 2: "To Thine Own Self" (Or to anyone else, for that matter)
- Episode 3: "Birthright" (Some characters should've been aborted)
- Episode 4: "The Reckoning" (Of our poor life choices to watch this show)
- Episode 5: "Ego Death" (The only enjoyable death in this show)
Dull-as-dishwater cast:
- Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, the wannabe-badass protagonist.
- Gianni Paolo as his sidekick, Brayden Weston.
- Woody McClain as Cane Tejada, bringing some much-needed talent.
- Lovell Adams-Gray as Dru Tejada, because one Tejada isn't enough.
- LaToya Tonodeo as Diana Tejada, a walking cliché.
- Mary J. Blige as Monet, trying to collect another paycheck.
- Method Man as Davis Maclean, the only tolerable character.
- Alix Lapri as Effie, a forgettable character.
- Caroline Chikezie as Noma, the "strong female lead."
- Naturi Naughton as Tasha St. Patrick, another "strong" woman.
- Michael Ealy as Detective Don Carter, who couldn't detect his way out of a paper bag.
