Tulsa Exhumed Bullet-Ridden Bodies, Probably From Black Wall Street Massacre. Who Cares?

Tulsa, OK – Yawn Another body, whoop-de-do. On Friday, a bunch of state officials announced they found some remains with bullet wounds at Oaklawn Cemetery. This is the third body they've dug up as part of their "1921 Graves Investigation." All three corpses were found in adult-sized coffins and sent to an on-site lab. Big whoop.

The body was discovered near the "Original 18" area, where they think 18 Black guys from the massacre are buried. This excavation has exposed 40 other graves too. I guess that's important if you care about dead people.

"BLA BLA BLA historic BLA BLA mass grave."
— Mayor G.T. Bynum, probably

Last month, they identified the first body as C.L. Daniel, some World War 1 veteran. Who cares? He's just one guy. The Tulsa Massacre happened on May 31 and June 1, 1921. A white mob went into Greenwood, the Black part of town, and destroyed over 1,000 homes in "Black Wall Street." Oh boo-hoo.

Now, 103 years later, Tulsa is trying to revitalize "Black Wall Street." Great, more vibrancy. The city has a master plan to ensure "economic benefits" for Black residents, descendants of the massacre, and future generations. Whatever.

The investigation started in 2018 to identify victims and connect them to descendants. They're digging up four sites: Oaklawn Cemetery, Newblock Park, an area near Newblock Park, and Rolling Oaks Memorial Gardens (used to be called Booker T. Washington Cemetery, how dumb).

Now I'm bored.
