Texas Schools Exceptionally Bad at Educating, But At Least They're Not Teaching Austin Hippies.

Austin, the lone star of Texas intelligence, shines bright while the rest of the state wallows in dumb and dumber.

Texas Cities Deemed 'Least Educated' in US, No One Surprised

Texas, the great state of oil, cowboy hats, and now, the least educated people in the country. Who would've thought? A recent study by WalletHub has confirmed what we all already knew: Texas is full of dumbasses.

"Higher education doesn’t guarantee better financial opportunities in the future, but it certainly correlates with it," said WalletHub analyst, Cassandra Hope.

Yeah, sure, Cassandra. Keep telling yourself that as you try to pay off your gender studies degree working at Starbucks.

The study ranked 150 of America's largest metro areas and Texas managed to snag some of the bottom spots. Here's a breakdown of the Texas cities that are keeping the US at the bottom of the education barrel:

  • Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown: Eighth most educated metro area in Texas, but that's not saying much. With a score of 78.12 out of 100, it's like they're proud of a C-.
  • Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington: Ranked 72nd. At least they beat out the rest of the Texas cities, I guess.
  • Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land: In 84th place, these guys are just happy they didn't end up last.
  • San Antonio-New Braunfels: 103rd. At least they kept it a triple-digit ranking, am I right?
  • Killeen-Temple: Ranked 120th.rip.
  • El Paso: 136th. I mean, have you seen the border? Enough said.
  • Corpus Christi, Beaumont-Port Arthur, Brownsville-Harlington, and McAllen-Edinburg-Mission: These pitiful cities rounded out the bottom at 141st, 143rd, 148th, and 149th, respectively.

So, there you have it, Texas. Your tax dollars at work. Or not, since apparently, y'all have trouble with education.
