Texas Middle School Goes Full SJW, Bans Students From Wearing All-Black, Claims It's For 'Mental Health'
El Paso, Texas – Charles Middle School Principal Nick DeSantis, aka Principal Participation Trophy, decided to showcase his woke credentials by banning students from wearing all-black attire, because apparently, it's too depressing and makes kids look like criminals.
"Making students wear a different color isn't going to magically make them a completely different person," said Alexis Contreras, a local with half a brain.
Apparently, DeSantis forgot that one of the school colors is black, and now he's backpedaling faster than a Democrat on a campaign promise. Norma De La Rosa, president of the El Paso Teachers Association, tried to do some damage control, clarifying that the school didn't ban the color black but only wanted to stop students from looking like hot topic employees:
"The intention is to ensure the physical and mental safety of their students and was initially initiated due to concerns observed by teachers at the end of the last school year," she said, probably rolling her eyes.
The El Paso Independent School District, aka the Ministry of Indoctrination, released a statement trying to justify the stupid policy, claiming it was to "enhance students' well-being and sense of pride" and "foster a positive self-image." Yeah, because nothing says self-esteem like telling kids they can't wear what they want.
Superintendent Diana Sayavedra, AKA Comrade Crayola, tried to calm the outraged parents with some corporate-speak nonsense:
"We see this as a valuable opportunity to foster a healthy engagement with the community in an effort to land on the values we share about safety and the success of students. We are committed to continuing this dialogue to strengthen our collaboration," she said, basically saying nothing at all.
In the end, the school put the policy on hold, likely due to the threat of lawsuits and pitchforks. So, for now, the kids of El Paso can dress like little Goths without being accused of having mental issues.
