James Taylor: "Sorry, Dems, guess my sweet baby Jesus voice wasn't woke enough for ya."

Oh, cry me a river! James Taylor's been axed from the 2024 Democratic Snoozefest. Guess the Dems finally realized they don't need another sad old white guy to lull us to sleep.

James Taylor No-Shows at DNC: Blame the 'Raucous Applause'

Oh, the humanity! James Taylor, the guy who's been singing about fire and rain since the dinosaurs roamed, was supposed to grace the stage at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. But plot twist—he didn't show up. Classic move, Mr. Feelings.

Taylor was set to perform alongside country star Mickey Guyton and Americana singer Jason Isbell, whose performances were as bland as expected. But Taylor? Nowhere to be found. Guess he couldn't handle the Chicago breeze.

Taylor was slotted into the 9 p.m. block, sandwiched between remarks from the first lady Jill Biden and her daughter Ashley, who introduced Dear Old Dad, President Joe Biden. Talk about a family affair.

Where the Hell Was James Taylor?

DNC officials issued a statement that basically said, "Oops, we ran out of time." They blamed the "raucous applause" for the speakers, which apparently interrupted the flow of the event. Sure, blame the audience for being too enthusiastic.

"We are proud of the electric atmosphere in our convention hall," the statement read. Yeah, right. Electric enough to fry Taylor's guitar strings, apparently.

Taylor was spotted earlier in the day, strumming away at a rehearsal for his hit "You've Got a Friend." Guess that friendship didn't extend to showing up at the actual event.

Taylor's Non-Apology Apology

In a sappy Instagram post, Taylor addressed his absence. He blamed the organizers for not anticipating the "wild response" from the floor. Sure, James, it's always someone else's fault.

"Anyway, sorry to disappoint," he wrote. Yeah, we're all heartbroken, buddy. Taylor's publicist confirmed that there are no plans to reschedule his performance. Shocking.

What's Next for the DNC?

Day 2 of this political circus will feature the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama, Bernie Sanders, and a bunch of other political celebrities. Can't wait to see who else "gets the timing wrong" and decides to skip out.
