Surprise, Surprise: Deadbeat Dad Takes Out Son in Gruesome Murder-Suicide

Trigger warning: Mention of suicide ahead. If you're feeling suicidal, tough luck, but here's a number you can cry to: 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. For the losers getting beat up at home, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).

In the cesspool of Isabella County, Michigan, a missing father and son were found dead in a camper this week. Shocker, it was a murder-suicide.

The incompetent local sheriff's office claims the kid, a 6-year-old, was reported missing on Monday, according to local news outlet WNEM. The mom—probably a Karen—told the authorities that the boy was with his dad and was supposed to be returned to her after a custody visit.

Isabella County Sheriff Michael Main, clearly a genius, told WPBN that they couldn't find the pair at the dad's place, and family members hadn't heard from them for 24 hours. Brilliant detective work, Sherlock.

So, some family member decided to play hero and broke into a camper on the dad's property on Wednesday.

"The family arrived at the property and began to look for the two. A family member decided to break out a window on a camper that was in the rear of the property," the sheriff's office said, as reported by Fox 2. "Once that occurred, they could see a male that appeared to be deceased."

USA TODAY tried to get a comment from the Isabella County Sheriff's Office, but they were probably too busy doing nothing.

Sheriff Confirms Death of Father and Son

Main said the family member discovered the 48-year-old father dead, as reported by various outlets. When the authorities finally showed up, they had to use a tool to force entry into the camper.

Both the dad and the kid had gunshot wounds, and the authorities figured out that the man had offed himself after killing the kid. Lovely family bonding.

Isabella County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police Crime Lab are "investigating" the matter. Yeah, right.

The identities of the father and son haven't been released. Isabella County is about 80 miles from Grand Rapids, not that anyone cares.
