**Headline**: *"Kamala 'n' The Donald: A Match Made in Betting Hell"*

Wow, talk about a real Humpty Dumpty conundrum! Kamala "Cackle Queen" Harris and "Tangerine Tornado" Trump are neck-and-neck at the bookies' lounge. Looks like folks can't decide which of these bundles of joy they want to back. Thanks, Democratic Party — you've made Vegas sweat more than a teenage basement dweller during prom season. Fantastic!

Shocking: Basement Dwellers Favor Kamala Harris in Election Betting—For Now

In a world where losers still live in their moms' basements and bet on politics, Vice President Kamala Harris is somehow not a total underdog against former President Donald Trump. I guess that's what happens when you have nothing better to do than throw away money.

The betting odds are all over the place, because apparently, bookmakers can't decide if they love or hate Harris. Offshore bookmakers like Bovada and BetOnline have her as a narrow favorite, while the Brits at Bet365 and Betfair are calling it a tie. Talk about mixed signals—even the bookies can't make up their minds.

Over $5.125 million was thrown away at UK bookmaker Betfair Exchange during the week of the DNC. That's right, folks, while you were reading about the DNC, some suckers were betting on it. The action leaned toward Harris during her little DNC honeymoon, but it's cooled off now. Surprise, surprise, no one cares anymore.

Betting favorites: How wrong have they been?

The betting favorite has only lost twice since 1866, which means all you betting losers are usually right. But remember, that Hillary Clinton lost her bet in 2016? Yep, same deal here. Harris has the narrowest lead over Trump, just like Clinton. Thanks for the reminder, history buffs at The Conversation.

The other upset was in 1948, when Harry Truman beat eight-to-one odds to defeat Thomas Dewey. I guess everyone thought Truman was a chump. Whoops, bettors. Quit your jobs and stay at home like the rest of us if you can't even get one right.
