Oh goody, Austin's Capitol 10K is top shit again. Whoop-de-fucking-doo.
Oh, joy! Austin's Statesman Capitol 10K is apparently the "best race to run in 2025" for the second year in a row. Because nothing says "fun" like sweating your balls off in Texas heat while people you hate cheer you on. Can't wait to see the rest of the overhyped races on that list.

Big Whoop: Austin's Cap10K Wins Again, Because Apparently Misery Loves Company
Breaking: Austin's Statesman Cap10K snags top spot for 2025's best 10K. If running aimlessly for 6.2 miles is your idea of fun, who am I to judge?

Mark Your Calendars, Losers: Next Cap10K Date Announced
The 48th annual Statesman Capitol, brought to you by the clowns at Baylor Scott & White Health, is set for Sunday, April 6, 2025. Sign up now on their website if you hate yourself enough to participate. They're also taking donations for The Kindness Campaign, because God knows we need more kindness in this hellhole world.
This hot mess started in 1978 and has since become Texas' largest 10K. Because why not? Last year, 16,258 suckers—I mean, runners—registered. During the pandemic, they even offered a virtual option, because misery doesn't discriminate between real life and online.
Cap10K Named Best Race Again, Because the World is Unfair
For the second year in a row, Cap10K tops the list according to HalfMarathons.net. Race Director Jeff Simecek credits this to "meticulous planning" and a "300% all-in mentality." I credit it to a severe lack of better options.
"From registration to the finish line, we create an exceptional experience," Simecek said. Yeah, right. Nothing says exceptional like droves of sweaty people huffing and puffing down Congress Avenue.
Michael Mazzara, CEO of HalfMarathons.com, ran in Austin's race and actually enjoyed it. "The Cap10K strikes a balance between organized chaos and community responsibility," he said. Because nothing screams community like thousands of people stomping through your city.
