Another Smoking Hot Mess in Austin's BBQ Scene
Oh, quelle surprise, another tear-jerker about a dead restaurant owner. LeeAnn Mueller, the so-called spicy saint of smoked meats, has left behind a legacy as fiery as her alleged personality. Her restaurant, La Barbecue, is still kicking, because God forbid we let a good brisket go to waste.
Supposedly, the bark on that brisket is as black as the soul of whoever decided to write this puff piece. It's peppery, it's fierce, it's worth every overpriced bite. Because nothing says "gentrified Austin" like shelling out half your paycheck for a sandwich.
And let's not forget the sausage. Packed with pepper, garlic, and onion salt, it's a Mueller family tradition. Because when you're choking down your feelings, you might as well choke down some hot gut too.
Now, Ali Clem, the widow with a disposition sweeter than the molasses in their BBQ sauce, is running the show. She's kept La Barbecue going, making it the most woke BBQ joint in town. Inclusive, diverse, and probably serving up a side of political correctness with every order.
