Glen Powell Escapes Liberal Hollywood for Texas, Sanity

Texas-born actor Glen Powell recently fled the liberal insanity of Hollywood for the Lone Star State, and his mind is better for it. In an interview with USA TODAY, Powell opens up about why he left Tinseltown for Austin, and it's not just the better meat.

"Hollywood can mess with your head. All that navel-gazing and self-importance will do you in. It's good to get back to your roots and remember what really matters: family, freedom, and brisket."

Why He Left La-La Land:

  • Breaking the Hollywood Spell: Powell escaped the "Hollywood bubble," citing the negative impact on his mental health. When you're surrounded by the vapid and the vain, you start to lose touch with reality.
  • Family Matters: His parents, who still live in Austin, provided a humble reminder of his Texas roots at the "Hit Man" premiere, holding signs that said, "stop trying to make Glen Powell happen." A much-needed reality check!
  • Meat and Potatoes: Let's be real, Texas has better meat. Nuff said. His rescue dog, Brisket, probably agrees.
  • A Texan through and through: Powell was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame on May 15 at the Austin premiere of "Hit Man."
