Texan Troubadour*

Actor Glen Powell escapes the clutches of Hollywood, leaving the land of liberals and lunacy for the sane shores of his home state, Texas. In a recent interview, the Texas-born star of Netflix's Hit Man spilled the beans on why he ditched Tinseltown for the Lone Star State:

"Hollywood can mess with your head. It's like a cult, with groupthink and all that crap. You need to get out, breathe some fresh Texas air, and remember what real life is about."

Family Values

Our man Glen isn't just hiding out in some ranch, though. He's keeping it real with his roots, moving back to be closer to his parents in Austin. A true family man, unlike those Hollywood phonies. And his parents? Keeping their boy humble at the Hit Man premiere, signs in hand: "Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen." Now that's some good ol' fashioned parenting!

Texas-Sized Meals

Let's talk meat. As any real 'Murican knows, Texas meat beats anything California has to offer. Glen's got the right idea: there's nothing like a good ol' Texas steak to put hair on your chest. And his rescue dog, Brisket? Named after a cut of meat. Enough said.

Hall of Fame, Texas Style

Capping off his return to Texas, our boy Glen was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame on May 15.

So there you have it, folks. Glen Powell: a man, a Texan, a legend. He's living proof that you can take the boy out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the boy.

*Troubadour: a wandering singer or poet, which is what Glen is, wandering away from the crazy folks in Hollywood.
