Freedom fries: sweet potato snowflakes conquered
We asked and you delivered. The people of Austin have spoken: real slim shady fries are here to stay. This election season, we didn't vote blue or red—we voted golden, crisp, and salted.

We asked, y'all delivered: these are the best damn fries in Austin, the frying pan of Texas.
P. Terry's takes the top spot, and rightfully so. Their plain paper bag of fries is an iconic Austin comfort food, and with 25.36% of y'all agreein', who are we to argue?
Comin' in hot at second, Hyde Park Bar & Grill with their fancy buttermilk batter and spices. At 22.69%, they almost overtook P. Terry's, but hey, there's always next time!
Then there's Dan's Hamburgers curly fries. These suckers took third place with 8.25%, and I bet the crunch is worth chewin' on.
The rest of the nominees are just fryin' to catch up:
- Hopfields
- Justine's
- Clark's

- Buddy's Burger
- Crown & Anchor
- Bartlett's
- JewBoy Burgers
- Dai Due
- Salty Sow
- Delray Cafe
- Hold Out Brewing
- Frazier's Long & Low
- Uptown Sports Club
- Chi'lantro
- Billy's on Burnet
There you have it, folks! Another proof that everything is bigger and better in Texas, especially our fries.
