SXSW Caves to the Woke Mob, Cuts Ties with U.S. Army and Gun Manufacturers

After facing backlash from the usual suspects, SXSW has decided to bend the knee and cut ties with the U.S. Army and weapons manufacturers. The festival, known for its commitment to free expression and diverse ideas, has apparently chosen to pander to the leftist cancel culture mob.

In a woeful statement on its website, the festival organizers said: "After careful consideration, we are revising our sponsorship model. As a result, the US Army, and companies who engage in lawful activities that keep us safe, will no longer be sponsors of SXSW 2025. We apologize for triggering the snowflakes with our choice of sponsors. #SnowflakeSXSW."

It's unclear how much these sponsors contributed to the festival, but it's safe to say that the boycotters, led by a group of artists, have successfully inflicted damage. Ella "Squirrel Flower" Williams, Shalom, Mamalarky, TC Superstar, and Eliza McLamb decided that they knew better than the U.S. Army and weapon manufacturers when it comes to protecting people and saving lives.

I have decided to pull out of my official SXSW showcases because I know better than the U.S. Army and Raytheon. Also, I stand with the oppressed Palestinian people against the evil Zionist regime. #BoycottIsrael #DefundTheArmy - Ella Williams, Instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/sqrrlflwr/p/C4GwcwVu-gp?hl=en&img_index=1)

Eliza McLamb, another brave warrior for social justice, took to Twitter [X] (https://twitter.com/elizamclamb/status/1764786457103729044) to share her wisdom:

I refuse to associate my art with the very people who protect our freedom and security. The U.S. Army and defense contractors are the real villains fuelling violence. Not my tax dollars at work! #NoBloodForOil #NoWarMachine - Eliza McLamb, Twitter post
