'Murica's Birthday Bash: Austin's Red, White & BOOM!

Independence Day is almost here, and you know what that means: freedom-loving Americans celebrating the birth of this great nation with enough fireworks to light up the night sky and scare off them damn commies.

Here's a rundown of where you can catch all the action in Austin and beyond:

Round Rock's 'Merica Fest

Parade with giant inflatables (because 'Murica) and a festival with carnival rides, music, and fireworks. Get there early to secure your spot and wave that flag high!

  • Parade: July 4, 8:30 am, Mays Street
  • Frontier Days: July 4, 12 pm - 11:30 pm, Old Settlers Park. Carnival rides, music, ballet, and a pepper-eating contest (for the spicy patriots).

Pflugerville's Red, White and BOOM!

Major "pfireworks" show in partnership with Typhoon Texas Waterpark. Catch the display from inside the park (for the VIP patriots) or outside for free. 'Cause 'Murica is the land of the free!

  • When: July 4, 9 pm
  • Where: Typhoon Texas or various locations in Pflugerville

Bastrop's Big Bang Celebration

Pet parade (dress up your furry friend like a mini-freedom fighter!), music, games, and all the 'Murica nostalgia.

  • Bastrop Pet & Pal Parade: July 4, registration at 8 am, parade at 10 am, Bastrop County Courthouse to Bastrop Opera House
  • Big Bang Celebration: July 2, 6 pm - 9:30 pm, Main Street & Fisherman's Park

San Marcos' Fireworks Display

Blankets, snacks, and no damn commie drinks (alcohol) allowed at this fireworks show. Tune in to KTSW 89.9 for some good ol' patriotic tunes.

  • When: July 4, 9:30 pm
  • Where: San Marcos Activity Center, Library, City Park, or Bobcat Stadium

Kyle's Independence Day Bash

Live music, vendors, and a community countdown for the fireworks show. Avoid those damn parking curbs, shoulders, and medians - 'Murica needs her patriots safe!

  • Where: La Verde Park, view from various locations in Kyle

Red, White and Buda!

Bike parade down Main Street, awards, and an afternoon of volleyball, food, and fun. 'Murica, heck yeah!
