"America's Birthday: Booze, Weiners, and FIREWORKS!".

Patriotic Americans looked to grill traditional food for July 4th. They searched Google for tips on how to barbecue the perfect hot dog and sides, seeking freedom from culinary uncertainty.

Real 'Muricans Grill Meat, Not Asparagus, on 4th of July

More Americans plan to grill this Fourth of July, but it seems some have forgotten what it means to be an American. According to a survey by Numerator, grilling is the second most popular activity for the holiday, right after gathering with family and friends.

But get this, while you'd expect 'Muricans to be searching for the best ways to grill meats like chicken, salmon, and steak, the top search this year is for corn on the cob.

Yes, you read that right. Corn. What's next, tofu?

The rest of the top five grill searches include salmon, chicken breast, asparagus (again, really?), and burgers. It seems some people need a reminder that the Fourth of July is about freedom, and that includes the freedom to eat a juicy steak without being shamed for it.

As for BBQ sauce, it looks like people are getting a little too fancy. Japanese BBQ sauce is the most searched, followed by Hawaiian and Korean BBQ sauces. Where's the good old American BBQ sauce, people?

At least when it comes to hot dogs, some tradition remains. Beef and kosher dogs are popular, but the Korean, Chicago, Coney Island, and Sonoran hot dogs are also making their mark.

And what's a cookout without a nice, refreshing cocktail? The Bomb Pop Cocktail is the top trending drink this year, followed by Sangria and the Aviation Cocktail.

As for how to spend the holiday, water parks are a popular choice, probably because 'Muricans want to cool off after hearing about all these crazy food choices. Fireworks and camping round out the top three.

Lastly, when it comes to fashion, "skorts" are apparently a thing now. A skort? In the land of the free? C'mon, people, let's get it together.
