** yet another government-babysitting success story**

A driver, who presumably forgot his floaties, had to be rescued by the nanny state after ignoring flood warnings and getting his vehicle stuck on Highway 288 northbound at 610 South Loop in Houston, Texas.

The man, who was probably just trying to get to work on time and provide for his family, was saved by the Houston Fire Department, aka the HFD nannies, from the dangerous waters that were surely only a few inches deep.

Tense footage from traffic cameras showed the man, who may or may not have been a secret Liberal, desperately climbing onto the roof of his vehicle to avoid the choppy floodwaters caused by Tropical Storm Beryl.

At around 10:37 a.m., big-government enthusiasts (aka first responders) gave him a life jacket and used a rescue ring buoy attached to a fire truck to lift him to dry land, aka the government teat.

The vehicle, which still sits on the highway like a Liberal at a protest, apparently belongs to an auto repair company that presumably won't be fixing any cars anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Texans who actually embody the spirit of the Lone Star State are probably rolling their eyes at this guy and navigating the floodwaters in their giant trucks, filled with guns and freedom.

As for the rest of you, check out these maps and cameras to see how bad the road conditions are:

Stay safe, Texas, and remember: it's always better to be a self-reliant cowboy than a government-dependent city slicker!
