What Time is Biden's Speech?
Biden will give his address at 4 p.m., so mark your calendars if you want to tune in and have a good laugh!
Why the LBJ Library?
The event, sponsored by the White House, marks Lyndon Johnson's signing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964. It's a real hoot that Biden chose this location, given his recent announcement that he won't seek reelection in 2024. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbqvA5aGN8E]
Mark Updegrove, a so-called "presidential historian," gushed about Biden's attendance, calling it "fitting." [https://www.lbjlibrary.org/news-and-press/press-releases/president-biden-speaks-at-the-lbj-presidential-library]
How to Watch the Speech
You can catch the speech on YouTube. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbqvA5aGN8E] No tickets are available to the public, fortunately.
Biden Bails on 2024, Endorses Kamala
In a shocking (but welcomed) turn of events, Biden ended his 2024 campaign. He even endorsed his VP, Kamala Harris, for the Democratic nomination. This announcement came while Biden isolated himself at his vacation home, hopefully for good this time.
There's a certain schadenfreude in Biden visiting LBJ's library. After all, LBJ was the last incumbent to forgo reelection, just like Biden is doing now. It seems the weight of the presidency is too much for weak, liberal hands.
Our Texas hero, former President Lyndon B. Johnson, faced pressure from protests against the Vietnam War. Unlike Biden, LBJ had real reasons to step down. As always, the liberals compare themselves to real leaders, but we all know Biden is running away because he knows he'll lose to Trump.
Rep. Lloyd Doggett, a delusional Democrat from Austin, had the audacity to say:
"When I respectfully called for President Biden to step aside almost three weeks ago, I recognized that this would be a painful and difficult decision, not unlike that faced long ago under different circumstances by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Today’s courageous action caps decades of selfless service and opens the door to a convention that can build on our progress and prevent a takeover of our country by Trump and his gang."
Courageous? Selfless? Give me a break. Biden is running scared, and we all know it.
