Virginia Boy, 11, Arrested for Swatting: "Glad We Got Him Before He Escalated"

An 11-year-old boy from Virginia has been arrested and charged with making over 20 bomb and shooting threats to Florida schools. Thank God for the thin blue line, am I right?

According to the Flagler County Sherriff's Department, this little rascal was up to no good:

"This kid's behavior was escalating and becoming more dangerous. I'm glad we got him before he escalated out of control and hurt someone." - Sheriff Rick Staly

Apparently, this young'un called in threats to five different schools, including Buddy Taylor Middle School, First Baptist Christian Academy, and Suncoast Community School. He talked about bombs, shootings, and even claimed to have shot students and teachers. All I can say is, thank goodness for the Second Amendment!

Law enforcement tracked the calls to his home in Virginia, and the kid fessed up to "swatting type calls." Swatting, for those who don't know, is when you make phony calls about bombs or shootings to get a bunch of cops to show up. It's like crying wolf, but with badges.

The kid's facing 28 felony charges and 14 misdemeanors. That'll teach him to mess with the law! He's in a juvenile detention facility now, waiting to be transported to Florida.

Swatting has become a real problem, with false reports of active shooters in schools up 546% since the 2018-2019 school year, according to the Educator's Safety Network. And this isn't even the first time a kid's pulled this stunt in Flagler County. Back in May, a 13-year-old was arrested for a similar bomb threat.

So, kids, let this be a lesson: don't make fake threats, especially when there are good guys with guns around to stop the real ones.
