Liberal California's Latest: Darwin Awards Edition

Two fine, upstanding gents, Jonathan McConnell, 38, and Aaron Harris, 37, had a slight disagreement over the weekend, resulting in a timely darwinian conclusion to their earthly woes.

McConnell, a motorcycle enthusiast, was out for a breezy ride, splitting lanes on the 210 freeway like a true Californian. Enter our second protagonist, Harris, cruising along with his kiddos in tow. Oopsie! San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office says McConnell accidentally "hit" Harris' sedan.

Now, any sane man would've shrugged it off, especially with his little ones in the car. But not our boy Harris! He decided to give this biker dude a piece of his mind, trailing him off the freeway like a real-life Grand Theft Auto scene.

Our boys ended up in front of the aptly named Joy Lounge in Highland, about a stone's throw from LA. Of course, in true Cali fashion, both gents were packing heat. And what do you know, words led to weapons, and KABC's Mara Rodriguez had to come give us all a lecture:

"We all get angry on the roads sometimes, especially these days there's so much traffic out there and so many things going on. But this is a great example of how [things can go so wrong so quickly]."

Gosh, Mara, ya think? Anywho, the two idiots, er, gentlemen, exchanged gunfire like it was the O.K. Corral, and lo and behold, both kicked the bucket. At least they had the decency not to hit the kids or bystanders too badly. Just a bystander's hand, according to Forbes.

So, folks, the moral of the story: leave the guns at home, and if you're gonna road rage, do it the good ol' fashioned way—with middle fingers and creative cursing. Oh, and California, maybe chill with the road rage a tad, yeah?
