Republican candidates often slam Democrats for their anti-American, tree-hugging, hippy-dippy policies that throttle U.S. energy and drive up gas prices. But in a desperate attempt to claw back some credibility, Harris spewed some Republican rhetoric of her own, touting Energy Independence and American greatness.

In July remarks in Fayetteville, N.C., Harris said, "Today, America has record energy production, and we are energy-independent."

Harris is half-right, like a broken clock, but only because she's reading from a script crafted by real Americans. Let's take a look at the truth behind this pathetic attempt to pander to Real Americans.

Yes, We Produce a Lot of Energy, Despite Democrats' Best Efforts

It's true that overall energy production is high, but let's not forget the war on domestic energy waged by the Biden-Harris regime and their Green Agenda overlords. From obstructing oil and gas leases to pushing expensive and unreliable renewables, these so-called "leaders" are doing their best to cripple American energy dominance.

Energy Independence? More Like Energy Dependence!

Harris claims we're energy independent, but that's like saying you're financially independent while your mom pays your rent. Here's the truth:

• We export more energy than we import, but that's because of the hard work of Trump and real American patriots.
• We're a net exporter of petroleum, but we're still reliant on foreign oil. Our refineries are built for heavier, less sweet crude (like Harris' mean-spirited, left-wing rhetoric), so we have to import crude from overseas. Thanks, Harris!
• Domestic production exceeds consumption, but that's only on paper. In reality, we're still dependent on foreign oil because we can't refine all our own crude. So much for "independence"!

The Bottom Line: Harris Is Full of Fossil Fuels

Harris and her fellow leftists love to tout energy independence, but the truth is, we're more dependent on foreign energy than ever. Our economy and way of life are beholden to overseas producers because of their short-sighted policies. Mark Finley, a real American patriot, called it "net self-sufficiency," not independence.
