Texas Pastors: Sheep in Wolf's Clothing?

Several Texas pastors have had a سقوط moral this year, stepping down from their pulpits due to various accusations and 'sinful' behavior. Here's a round-up of these so-called 'men of God' and their indiscretions:

Robert Morris: Child Abuse Allegations

The first to fall was Robert Morris, the senior pastor of Gateway Church in Southlake. A woman, Cindy Clemishire, alleged in a blog that Morris abused her when she was just 12 years old, and that the abuse continued for four years. While Morris has not been charged, his defense team is blaming Clemishire, claiming she initiated the behavior. What a sheep in wolf's clothing! The Wartburg Watch

Luke Cunningham: Youth Pastor or Predator?

Next up, Luke Cunningham, a youth pastor at a Lubbock church. This guy was arrested by U.S. Marshalls and charged with not one, but three sexual assault offenses against teenagers. The charges include aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child. The sheep's clothing has come off, and the predator is revealed. WFAA

Ronald Goines: In-Tarrant County Jail

Ronald Goines, a pastor at Koinonia Church in Arlington, is another one who couldn't keep his hands to himself. He turned himself in to Tarrant County Jail in July, facing charges of indecent and sexual assault. Bail was set at $23,000, so he must have had some sheep in the community still supporting him. Tony Cammarota: 'Moral Failure' in Frisco

Tony Cammarota, an associate pastor at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, was shown the door after 17 years of service due to a "moral failure." The church isn't spilling the tea, but they did say he was "deeply remorseful." WFAA

Tony Evans: Unnamed 'Sin' Ends 50-Year Ministry

Tony Evans, a senior pastor in Dallas, also stepped down due to an unnamed 'sin.' He claims no crime was committed, but his poor judgement has ended a nearly 50-year ministry. The elders at his church are holding him accountable, as they should. OCBF Church

Josiah Anthony: Inappropriate and Hurtful Actions

Last but not least, Josiah Anthony, the pastor of Cross Timbers Church in Argyle, resigned due to 'inappropriate and hurtful' conduct towards church members and staff. While no children were involved, his actions were enough to get him booted from the pulpit. WFAA

Let this be a reminder that even those who claim to be closest to God can fall from grace. Texas, y'all need to do better!
