Trump Defends 'Cat-Lady' JD Vance: 'He Likes Families'
Former President Trump defended his running mate, JD Vance, saying he's "a family guy" after Vance's "childless cat ladies" comment caused a stir. Trump told Fox News:
"...[Vance] grew up in a unique family situation, and he's all for families. I don't see the issue here."
Vance, Trump's VP pick, made the initial comment on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" in 2021, criticizing Democrats. The clip resurfaced and went viral, with celebs like Jennifer Aniston and Whoopi Goldberg weighing in.
JD Vance, a father of three, clarified his remarks, saying:
"It was sarcasm...but the point stands. Our society is anti-family and anti-kids. I became a father, and it changed me. We need more of that."
He also wished VP Kamala Harris and her family well, but stood by his criticism of Dem policies as "anti-child."
