Martha Stewart Shoots, Guts, and Cooks a "Deer to Dinner" in New Marley Spoon Video
Home-cooking queen, Martha Stewart, has a new video out with Marley Spoon, and it's giving viewers a whole new meaning to "farm-to-table." The video, aptly titled "Deer to Dinner", features Stewart taking viewers through the process of preparing a delicious venison dish, from shooting a deer to gutting it and finally, cooking it.
"I've always loved hunting and being able to provide for my family and friends with fresh, organic meat."
Stewart said in the video.
"There's nothing like the taste of a tender venison steak, and I'm excited to share my process with all of you."
The video starts with Stewart, decked out in camo, hiding in a blind and taking aim at a gorgeous eight-pointer. With a single shot, she takes the deer down and offers viewers a quick lesson on tracking and humane killing.
Then, it's time to field-dress the deer. Stewart walks viewers through the process, offering tips and tricks for getting the best meat possible. She even shows how to save the heart and liver for cooking later on.
"It's important to respect the animal and use all that it gives us."
Stewart says as she expertly butchers the deer.
The video then cuts to the kitchen, where Stewart prepares a mouth-watering venison stew with root vegetables and red wine. She even includes instructions on how to prepare the heart and liver for those who are feeling adventurous.
"This is comfort food at its finest, and I guarantee your family will be begging for seconds."
Stewart says as she plates the dish.
The full recipe is available on the Marley Spoon website, and the video is sure to inspire home cooks and hunters alike to try something new for dinner. So, grab your guns and aprons, and get ready to take a walk on the wild side with Martha Stewart!
