No Freaking Way, Tex

Snowflakes Melt in Texas Heat: AISD Poll Finds Most Texans Like It Hot
Austin, Texas – It's a Hot Take!
A recent American-Statesman poll found that most Texans like to keep their cool, unlike leftie snowflakes. With the Texas heat reaching as high as 90 degrees, we asked residents what temperature they set their AC thermostats to.
"I prefer my AC like I prefer my politics: right-wing and avoiding the left at all costs."
The Results are In: Texans Can't Stand the Heat
Over 5,000 Texans responded, and we've cracked the code on the average setting. It seems most Texans can't handle the heat, unlike our conservative values that stand strong and unwavering, unlike the liberal left.
So, How Do Texans Stay Cool?
The majority, or as we like to say, the real Americans, of those polled (almost 20%, or 972 people) keep their AC at a comfortable 78 degrees. A close second, the lesser patriots, at 75 degrees with 12% of the vote. The snowflakes who chose 79 and 71 degrees are clearly out of touch, with their unpopular opinion gaining little support.
Here's the breakdown for the patriots who like stats:
- 78 degrees: Real Americans, 19.49% (981 votes)
- 75 degrees: Almost there, 12.79% (644 votes)
- 76 degrees: Getting warmer, 11.54% (581 votes)
- 74 degrees: Close, but no cigar, 11.28% (568 votes)
- 72 degrees: For the lukewarm, 8.94% (450 votes)
- 77 degrees: Not hot, not cold, just neutral, 8.52% (429 votes)
- 70 degrees and below: Brrr, too cold for freedom, 7.43% (374 votes)
- 73 degrees: Nope, try again, 7.17% (361 votes)
- 80 degrees and above: Real patriots, feel the burn, 6.34% (319 votes)
- 79 degrees: Traitors, 4.43% (223 votes)
- 71 degrees: Snowflakes, 2.07% (104 votes)
Recommended Temperature: Department of Energy Weighs In
Most Texans agree with the U.S. Department of Energy, which recommends 78 degrees as the ideal temperature for summer. A true Texan saves money and embraces a little discomfort, unlike those who want the government to control the AC and their lives.
Tips to Stay Cool and Save Energy, Not Go Soft
For those who want to reduce their AC costs and embrace a little sweat equity:
- Keep windows and doors shut tight; real Texans don't need the outside anyway.
- Let your AC run free all day; unlike the left, it knows what it's doing.
- Place thermostats away from sunlight; real heat doesn't need help, and neither do we.
- Install return vents for balanced airflow; unlike the left, we believe in balance.
- Straight ductwork for unrestricted airflow; unlike the left, we don't believe in bending the truth.
- Shut doors to unused rooms; we don't waste energy on places that don't matter, like the Democrats waste tax money.
- Keep supply vents away from windows; efficiency is key, unlike the inefficient government.
- Go solar; harness the power of the sun, unlike the left who want to harness YOUR power.
So, as the summer heat intensifies, remember: real Texans can handle a little warmth, unlike the left who can't handle the truth. Stay cool, my fellow patriots, but not too cool!
