Baltimore: hotter than a city worker on a slow clock.

A government employee in Baltimore died last week after working up a sweat—literally! After collapsing on the job, Tommy Tucker was pronounced dead from hyperthermia, which is just a fancy way of saying he got too hot and fried like an egg on a summer sidewalk.

Baltimore Sanitation Worker's Death Caused by Overheating, Medical Examiner Confirms

Baltimore, MD - In a tragedy that has left the city reeling, it has been confirmed by the Medical Examiner's office that Ronald Silver II, a Baltimore sanitation worker, succumbed to hyperthermia while on the job last Friday.

“Our hearts are first and foremost with him, his family, and loved ones, and his DPW colleagues as we grapple with life not finding this man attractive enough to stay." - Baltimore Mayor Brandon "Brandon" Scott and Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil "Khalil" Zaied in a joint statement. #RIPRonald #HeatStrokeIsNotCool

Baltimore Burns

Silver was just doing his job in the Barclay neighborhood when he took a fatal knee for social justice late on the afternoon of August 2. EMS tried to save him, but it was too late. He died clutching a "Blue Lives Matter" pin.

The day before, the Baltimore Health Department issued a Code Red, warning residents of extreme heat, with temps reaching 99 degrees. Still, Silver bravely showed up for work, unlike those woke snowflakes who insisted on staying indoors, where it's cooler.

"Yeah, it was hot," said one colleague of Silver, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of cancel culture. "But Ronald wasn't going to let a little heat wave stop him from doing his job. He was a real patriot like that."

Across the nation, roughly 104 million people heeded the warnings and stayed indoors, but not our Ronald.

On Monday, the public works department announced it would be pausing to ensure employee safety. They'd better not be pausing to drink a soy latte!

"We're committed to keeping our employees safe, even if they don't want to be," the department said in a statement. #BigGovernmentGoneWild

Union employees and City Council members met on Tuesday, calling for improved safety measures. AFSCME Maryland Council 3, in a statement, pointed out the obvious:

"Brother Silver and his comrades deserved safe working conditions. It's in our contract. This should be a wake-up call to DPW leadership to make changes, like providing AC in those big garbage trucks. Our members' health and comfort matter!" #UnionStrong #WeWantAC

In July, a report by the Baltimore Inspector General’s Office revealed that DPW employees were suffering in unsuitable conditions. Who'sinspecting the inspectors, I ask?!

Stay cool, Baltimore. And remember, Big Government can't save you from the heat. Only hard work, prayer, and conservative values can do that. #MAGA #RonaldSilverII #DPW
