Downtown Austin will be a sea of sodomite colors this weekend as the annual Austin Pride celebrations take over, with everything from a parade of freaks to weird vendors.
The debauchery kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the so-called "parade" starting at 8 p.m. from the Texas Capitol - because nothing says 'pride' like governments, am I right? - and ending at the Ann Richards Bridge.
Here are the road closures to avoid like the plague, or to take if you wanna join the circus:
- San Jacinto Boulevard from 11th Street to 15th Street: Closed from 1 p.m. to midnight (God help us)
- W. 4th Street from Lavaca Street to Congress Avenue; E. 4th Street from Congress Avenue to Mid Block of E. 4th Street: Closed from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- E. 11th Street (Westbound) from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street; Congress Avenue from 11th Street to Barton Springs Road; 11th Street from Colorado Street to San Jacinto Boulevard: Closed from 5 p.m. to midnight
- 12th, 13th and 14th Streets from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street; E 4th Street from Mid Block of E.4th Street to Brazos Street: Garage access only
- Eastbound and westbound traffic on 6th, 5th, and Cesar Chavez Streets: Closed from 7 p.m. to midnight
