The gay mafia is coming. I met with the LGBTQIA's foodie fuhrer to discuss their plans for Pride Austin.

Austin 'Pride' Austin Pride is this weekend, and it's sure to be a real doozy! Get ready for all the rainbow-colored madness as the LGBTQIA+ brigade takes over the city.
Ezov's Extravaganza
Kicking things off on Thursday, Ezov is putting on a real show with their Pride Party. Cheeki Khant, Vylette Ward, and Sierra Mykels will be performing, whatever that means, while DJ Ruby Knight spins some tunes. The menu includes Pride-themed jello shots and cocktails, because what says 'LGBTQIA+ pride' like getting smashed? All proceeds from the charity raffle will go to Unite the Fight, the biggest LGBTQIA+ gala in Central Texas. Woo-hoo, more rainbows!
Dragtastic Que Cute!
Over in South Austin, El Raval is getting in on the action with a drag show extravaganza called Que Cute! on Sunday at 6 p.m. at their restaurant on 1500 S. Lamar Blvd. Drag queens and kings will be flaunting their stuff as part of the bigger festival and parade. Let's hope there's no lipstick on those teeth!
Rainbow Revolution
Restaurants and cafes in Austin have become the new queer hangouts, with these so-called 'safe spaces' offering support to the LGBTQIA-aligned nonprofits and arts organizations. If you want to know where to avoid this week, check out the spotlight on LGBTQIA-owned restaurants in Austin here.
