Liberal Cities, Big Bills: Texas Cities Top List of High Cost of Living

Those liberal-run cities will empty your pockets faster than you can say "big government." A new study by Smartasset ranks the highest salaries needed to live comfortably, and you guessed it, those liberal havens are at the top.

While real Americans in conservative states like Texas know how to keep costs low, those liberal elites in blue cities are taxing their citizens into the ground. The study analyzed 99 cities and guess what? Four of the top five are in the great state of Texas, where we know a thing or two about fiscal responsibility.

So, which liberal hellscapes made the list?

The Top Comfort Cities in Texas

Texas may lean red, but these cities are asking their residents to pony up. Houston takes the top spot, with a "comfortable" salary of $75,088 per year. That's a lot of brisket! El Paso isn't far behind, with a yearly wage of $75,254. Lubbock and Laredo also make the top five, with slightly higher salaries.

The Liberal Tax

As you move down the list, you'll find those liberal cities taxing their residents dry. San Antonio, a liberal oasis in a red state, requires an hourly wage of over $40. But the real liberal elites are in Austin, where a comfortable life will cost you an hourly wage of $47.96. No surprise there!

So, if you're tired of liberal policies and their high cost of living, it might be time to move to a red state. Just remember, freedom isn't free, but at least in Texas, you won't break the bank.
