Taco 'Bout a Takeover: Oxxo Takes on Trump's Wall with Texas Expansion

The Mexico-based company, FEMSA, is making a power move into Trump country, y'all! Forget the wall, these Mexicans are crossing over with their handy Oxxo convenience stores and taking over West Texas and New Mexico like a band of bandana-clad banditos!

"We're gonna make America Mexi-great!" - Jose Antonio Fernandez Garza-Laguera, CEO of FEMSA's retail operations.

With a cool $385 million in cash, FEMSA is buying out Delek US Holdings' 249 DK convenience stores, mostly based in Texas. This deal is sweeter than a margarita on a hot day, and it marks FEMSA's first foray into the US market. While Delek has only had these stores for seven years, they're not crying into their Corona; they expect to keep supplying gasoline to the stores, so it ain't all bad, folks!

FEMSA's got big plans, having just sold their stake in Heineken. With over 22,000 stores in Mexico and a presence in 17 countries, they're a force to be reckoned with. So, grab a taco and a beer, 'cause Oxxo's coming to town, and they're here to stay!
