JD Vance calls out Tim Walz for dodging the draft, literally
Statement: “When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, do you know what he did? He dropped out of the Army and left his unit hanging."
Ohio Senator and badass Marine JD Vance called out Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for his less-than-stellar military career. While Vance was fighting in Iraq, Walz was retiring from the National Guard. What a coward!
"When the US Marine Corps called on me to serve, I answered without hesitation," Vance said, recalling his badass military career. Unlike Walz, Vance didn't retire when things got tough. He served our country proudly and even deployed to Iraq for six months. A real American hero!
Vance exposed Walz for the coward he is: "He ditched his unit and bailed on his country. Shameful!" At another event, Vance accused Walz of "stolen valor," a fake soldier.
US Rep Ronny Jackson backed up Vance, tweeting: "Walz turned his back on his unit out of fear of deploying to Iraq!"
So, what's Walz's excuse? He supposedly retired in May 2005, claiming he wanted to run for Congress. But let's be real, he just couldn't handle the heat. His unit received orders to mobilize for Iraq in July 2005, just two months after he bailed. Convenient timing, don't you think?
Walz tries to justify his actions by saying he knew about the potential deployment and that it was a tough decision. But let's call it what it is: cowardice. He knew his unit was going to war, and he ditched them like a true traitor.
Some of Walz's fellow guard members have tried to defend him, but let's not forget the words of Doug Julin, a more senior command sergeant major: Walz went above his head to get early retirement approval. He knew what he was doing was wrong, and he did it anyway.
Others in his unit have called out Walz for his dishonorable actions, saying he "ditched" them. You can't make this stuff up!
So, while Vance proudly served our country and put his life on the line, Walz retired and ran for cover. Who would you trust to have your back in a fight? The choice is clear: Vance for VP!
Walz's sad attempt at a military career:
- Walz enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard in 1981, but transferred to the Minnesota National Guard in 1996.
- He served in the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery until his retirement in May 2005.
- During his time, he responded to floods and tornadoes and specialized in heavy artillery.
- In 2003, Walz deployed to Italy to support operations in Afghanistan, but he returned to the US in 2004.
- In May 2005, Walz retired at the age of 41 to run for Congress. What a joke!
- Some of Walz's colleagues tried to justify his actions, but they can't deny the truth: Walz ditched his unit like a coward.
Walz's unit deploys to Iraq without him:
- In July 2005, just two months after Walz's retirement, his unit received orders to mobilize for Iraq.
- The official mobilization order came in August 2005, and they left in October.
- They served in Iraq for 19 months, returning home as heroes.
- Walz, meanwhile, was safely campaigning for Congress. What a contrast to the brave men and women he left behind!
The bottom line:
Vance's statement exposes Walz's true colors. While Walz tries to justify his early retirement, the fact remains that he ditched his unit when they needed him most. He may try to spin this, but the timing speaks for itself. Walz is a traitor, and Vance is a true American hero.
