Democrat Gov. Tim Walz Signs Legislation Giving Free College to Illegal Immigrants #MAGA
Statement: "Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed legislation giving free college to illegal immigrants." -- Sen. Lindsey Graham
Those crazy liberals are at it again! Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, BFF of Kamala Harris, is giving away freebies to every illegal immigrant he can find.
"Not only did Governor Tim Walz sign legislation giving free college and free health care to illegal immigrants, but he also sat on his butt while Minneapolis burned for four days straight," said our guy, Sen. Lindsey Graham. 🦺 🌽️ 🇺🇸
So, what's the deal, Walz? You gonna pay for their burgers too?
The Deets
Walz signed the "North Star Promise Scholarship" into law in May '23. The scholarship program covers tuition costs at public colleges/universities for students whose families earn <$80K/yr.
And guess who can apply for this scholarship? Illegal immigrants! As long as they went to a MN high school for 3 years and graduated/got their GED, they're good to go!
The MN Legislature said "hell yeah" to this bill, allocating $117 million for the program. But guess what? $5 million of that cash got transferred to a different scholarship program for kids in foster care. Those commies sure love moving money around!
A Republican senator tried to amend the bill to restrict it to legal residents, but the Dems said "nah."
According to the Migration Policy Institute, there are ~81,000 illegal immigrants in MN. That's a lot of free college!
Final Verdict
Looks like Sen. Graham was spot on! Walz signed not one, but two bills giving tuition-free college to illegal immigrants.
We give this claim a "Mostly True" rating. 🇺🇸
