A Texan hero is heading to your TV screens this fall, y'all! The Lone Star State's very own David, 68, will be charming our pants off on ABC's [The Golden Bachelorette](https://abc.com/video/b3b2958e-e5a0-442b-b895-23e963819d2d/playlist/PL557769560).

Yee-haw! It's about time we had some real men on these dating shows and not those city-slicker pretty boys.

David, a rugged rancher from Austin, Texas, is looking for love again after putting family first and taking a 16-year break from the dating scene. While some might call him a "silver fox," we know he's got the heart of a true cowboy.

This ain't David's first rodeo, though. He's a marathon runner and a world traveler, always ready to hop on a plane to a new adventure. But his true hero is his 91-year-old mama—now that's what I call good old-fashioned family values.

David will be saddling up alongside 23 other city slickers to compete for the heart of 61-year-old Joan Vassos, a school administrator from Maryland, whose first rodeo this ain't neither. She was previously married for 32 years to the late John Vassos, who rode off into the sunset in 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

[The Golden Bachelorette] is a spinoff of [The Golden Bachelor], which gave us the so-called "Golden Couple," Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist. But their love story ended faster than a Texas divorce—five months after saying "I do" on live TV, they were splitsville.

Joan almost made it to the altar with Gerry, winning his heart and a rose, but she left the show early due to family matters. Now she's back in the saddle, and Gerry's been giving her advice for her new quest for love. What a gentleman!
