Cat-astrophe: Ohio Woman Takes 'Feral' to New Level

Buckle up, folks! An Ohio woman found herself in the slammer after police say she turned a residential area into a gruesome dinner theater. This story has more twists than a cat chasing its tail.

A 27-year-old woman was charged with cruelty to companion animals, according to Stark County court records. But this isn't your average case of forgetting to feed Fido.

Canton police nabbed the woman on Aug. 16 after they say she stomped a cat to death and then chowed down in front of multiple spectators. Talk about a dinner and a show nobody asked for! The arrest report, obtained by USA TODAY, has all the grim details.

During her arraignment on Monday, the suspect's bond was set at a cool $100,000, as reported by WKYC. Her next hearing is set for Friday, so mark your calendars for more courtroom drama.

USA TODAY couldn't reach Ferrell's defense attorney on Thursday, but we're all ears for any wild explanations.

From Complaint to Cat-tastrophe

On the fateful day, Canton police officers arrived on the scene after receiving a complaint about a woman who "had killed a cat and was eating it," an investigative report said. And what they found was straight out of a horror flick: a woman with her hands on a cat "which appeared to have its head smashed in," the report continued.

Blood was observed on the woman's feet, hands, and even fur on her lips. Let's just say she wasn't practicing the typical 'cat lady' routine.

After taking Ferrell to Stark County jail, officers secured the "cat as evidence," police said. It's unclear who the cat belonged to, but one thing's for sure—this is one crime story that'll make even the toughest cat lovers cringe.
