The 2024 Presidential Showdown: Harris vs. Trump
The Democratic National Convention has finally wrapped up, and we've got ourselves a showdown! After pulling the plug on his candidacy, 81-year-old President Joe Biden officially handed the reins to Vice President Kamala Harris during the convention's emotional finale. Time to break out the popcorn, folks!
Meanwhile, the Republican National Convention kicked off with a bang, as Former President Donald Trump secured his nomination and introduced Senator JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate. Let the games begin!
Mark Your Calendars: Presidential Debate Time!
The moment we've all been waiting for is almost here – the first-ever debate between Harris and Trump! ABC News is hosting the throwdown on Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. Central Time in Philadelphia. Trump, always the negotiator, proposed two more debates with Fox News and NBC News, but Harris' camp hasn't taken the bait yet.
Remember back in June when CNN hosted the first presidential debate in Atlanta? Trump went head-to-head with Biden, who was slammed for his less-than-stellar performance and mumbling. Good times!
Meet the Refs: Debate Moderators
"World News Tonight" anchor David Muir and ABC News Live "Prime" anchor Linsey Davis will be the lucky ones trying to keep this debate from turning into a WWE match, according to ABC News.
VP Debate: Walz vs. Vance
In the undercard bout, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Ohio Sen. JD Vance are ready to rumble. CBS News invited both candidates to debate in New York on multiple dates. Walz accepted, tweeting, "See you on October 1, JD."
