Tragic End to Search for Missing Texas Boy
The body of 8-year-old Ryan Akabusi was tragically found Sunday morning in a Texas lake, putting an end to a heart-wrenching search. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office reported that the boy was recovered around 6:45 a.m. by Texas Equusearch.
Little Ryan had gone missing from his Richmond home around 5 a.m. Saturday, sparking a community-wide effort to find him. His mother, Ademorowa Oladeinde, revealed to a local news outlet that home surveillance footage showed Ryan leaving the house. Thirty minutes later, a neighbor's camera caught him walking down a nearby street, and his shoes were later found on the road.
Late Saturday afternoon, a local AMBER Alert was issued, and Texas Equusearch swiftly organized a search party. Despite the valiant efforts of the community and law enforcement, the search ended in heartbreak.
Captain Dalia Simons did not disclose how Ryan had entered the lake but confirmed there is no sign of foul play. Investigators are now gathering footage from neighbors to piece together a timeline for Ryan's disappearance.
This tragic incident has left the community reeling, highlighting the importance of vigilance and community cooperation in keeping our children safe. Our hearts go out to the Akabusi family during this difficult time.
