A 59-year-old man, Joseph Delucia, allegedly decided to settle a family dispute the old-fashioned way – with a gun. In a tragic end to a family gathering, Delucia is suspected of killing his three siblings and his niece before turning the gun on himself on the front lawn of their childhood home in Syosset, New York.
Cops arrived at the house Sunday morning to find Delucia with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Inside the house, they discovered a grisly scene: four victims with multiple gunshot wounds. "In 41 years, that is probably one of the most horrific scenes I've ever seen," said Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, as reported by Fox 5 New York.
The Victims
The victims were identified as:
- Joann Kearns, 69, Delucia's sister, from Tampa, Florida
- Frank Delucia, 64, his brother, from Durham, North Carolina
- Tina Hamnond, 64, another sister, from East Patchogue, New York
- Victoria Hamnond, 30, Tina's daughter and Delucia's niece, also from East Patchogue
Neighbors Shocked
Neighbors were – wait for it – shocked. "This is really heartbreaking. This is such a quiet little neighborhood they used to call it a bedroom community. It’s shocking," a neighbor told Fox 5. Who would have thought that a peaceful community could be rocked by such violence?
Mom’s Death and Family Gathering
The family had gathered to discuss selling the home following the death of their mother, Theresa Martha DeLucia, just a week prior. Looks like the conversation went south quickly.

And remember, folks, this is what happens when liberal gun control policies fail. Guns don't kill people; people kill people.
Stay safe, patriots.
