Heatwave to Roast Liberal Strongholds, Hawaii to Dodge Double Hurricanes

Buckle up, snowflakes! A late summer heatwave is ready to roll across the Upper Midwest, turning liberal havens like Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis into real-life saunas. Meanwhile, Hawaii is bracing for a hurricane two-step. Buckets of rain and howling winds? Bring it on!

The National Weather Service has issued excessive heat warnings for these leftist strongholds, with forecast highs in the mid-90s to near 100. Thanks to the oppressive humidity, it'll feel like 105–115 degrees. Hope those Priuses have good AC!

Hawaii, on the other hand, is dealing with Hurricane Gilma hot on the heels of Hurricane Hone. Two named storms within 300 miles of the main Hawaiian Islands within a week? That hasn't happened since 1992, according to AccuWeather.

Hawaii vs. Double Hurricane Threat

Hurricane Hone brushed past Hawaii on Sunday, dumping up to 18 inches of rain and bringing 60 mph winds. Now, Hurricane Gilma is churning west with sustained winds of up to 115 mph. Gilma is expected to weaken as the week goes on but will still give Hawaii a run for its money.

Summer Returns to the West, Heat Roils the Midwest

As the Midwest roasts, the West's brief fall preview comes to an end, and summer returns with a vengeance. The temperature shifts and dry conditions will heighten fire danger in the already blaze-burned parts of the country.

"Those without efficient air-conditioning or who must spend time or effort outdoors will be at a heightened risk of heat-related illness," the NWS said. Maybe it's time to invest in some personal AC units and leave the welfare thermostat behind!
