Pflugerville Library: Get Ready for a Maker Market Shindig! Damn those liberals, even the library is hopping on the hipster bandwagon. At least it’s a chance to buy some down-home crafts without the “woke” tax. See you there, folks!

Pflugerville Library: Where Tax Dollars Fund Hipster Crafts!

Deep in the heart of the Pflugerville Public Library, there's a space that'll make your freedom-loving heart cringe—the Pfab Lab. Once a humble computer classroom (and even a staff kitchenette), it's now a crafty commune stuffed with sewing machines, laser cutters, and more. Because who needs the Second Amendment when you've got embroidery, right?

This den of craftiness is open twice a week for those who've sat through the indoctr—I mean, "training." They've even got events like "Laser Cutter Craft" for adults. Because nothing says "responsible gun owner" like making DIY cat-shaped coasters.

Since 2017, this lab has spawned a bunch of entrepreneurs who've apparently never heard of "free market capitalism." And now, they're hosting their second Maker Market on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Prepare to be amazed by:

  • Fae Atelier: Smell like a liberal with fall and Christmas scented candles.
  • Kate's Brain: Crocheted items. Because knitting needles are less scary than AR-15s.
  • Liz Volpi: Art prints and stickers. Perfect for decorating your Prius bumper.
  • Diana D'Emeraude: Resin products. Hopefully, none are shaped like Karl Marx.
  • KJ Designs: Polymer clay jewelry. Guns aren't the only things that can be concealed and carried.
  • House of Dell: Acrylic earrings and tumblers. Perfect for listening to NPR while sipping your fair-trade latte.
  • Dora's Treasure Box: Laser cutter earrings and fairy headbands. Because grown women dressing like Disney princesses is totally normal.
  • Crafty Mac Designs: Crochet and fused glass accessories. Just what your man cave needs.
  • PfunFusing: Button bouquets and fused glass items. Who needs a bouquet of roses when you can have one made of buttons?

Don't forget the kiddos! Three young makers will showcase their work. Isn't it adorable how the next generation is being groomed to hate capitalism?

Meg Miller, the adult services librarian, probably has a cat named Che Guevara.
