Bee Cave City Council: Library Under Construction, Literally

At the Oct. 8 meeting of the Bee Cave City Council, the Capital Improvements Plan subcommittee gave an update on the new library building. They're trying to cut costs, so they're considering alternative sites. Once they have a plan, they'll present it to the City Council for a public hearing and a vote. Meanwhile, the Bee Cave Library continues to offer top-notch programming and a place for the community to bond over books.

Gearheads Unite! Rolling Sculpture Car Show Revs Up Library Funds

The Rolling Sculpture Car Show is back on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hill Country Galleria. This family-friendly event supports the Friends of Bee Cave Public Library. Expect to see sports cars, hot rods, and even art cars. It's free for spectators, and the funds raised go to the library's programs and scholarships.

This year's raffle item is a kid-size Lamborghini with parental remote control. Sponsors include Covert Bee Cave Buick GMC, All Star Burger, and others. New this year is a "Trunk or Treat" for kids, live music from the Clutch Kings, and celebrity announcer Bob Fonseca.

Family Place Workshop: Playtime Isn't Just for Kids

The library’s bi-annual Family Place workshop, 123 PlaySmart, is wrapping up. Bee Cave, a certified Family Place Library, offers this program to teach parents about the importance of play. It's also a great way to connect with local resources.

The next workshop will be announced in early 2025. The Bee Cave Public Library’s Family Place program was even featured in the fall 2024 issue of "Children and Libraries".

Fall Fun for All Ages

  • Bee Creative: Adults and teens can decorate ceramic coasters on Oct. 16 at 5 p.m.
  • BeeTweens "Fear Factor": Kids in grades 3-5 face fun, gross challenges on Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.
  • Diwali Storytelling: Kids K-5 can enjoy a workshop on Nov. 2 from 3-4 p.m.

Storytimes are on hiatus until after the election due to early voting. Visit the library and enjoy the Family Place play area.
