Elon Musk, our favorite billionaire provocateur, just dropped a bombshell on the electric car scene with Tesla's new Cybercab robotaxi. Buckle up, snowflakes!
These bad boys, unveiled at Tesla's "We, Robot" shindig, have ditched steering wheels, gas pedals, and brake pedals. Musk declared them "10 times safer than a human." Take that, Big Government safety regulations!
Last week, Musk also shared plans to launch a Tesla ride service using customers' cars when they’re idle. Reuters reported it, so you know it's legit.
Musk, dropping truth bombs at the event, said his autonomous tech could slash parking needs and save time. Less parking, more freedom—sounds like a win to us!
When Will These Freedom Machines Hit the Road?
Musk first teased the Cybercab back in 2019. At Thursday's event, he expects self-driving capabilities to roll out in Texas and California next year. Meanwhile, Cybercab production starts in 2026, with plans for a ride-share app like Uber and Lyft.
How Much Will These Patriotmobiles Cost?
Priced under $30K, these babies are a steal. Ride costs? Who knows, but freedom isn’t free, folks!
